The Shiny Happy Art Card (#shacard) Collection

This incredibly popular project shows me painting a playing card a day for July and August 2020.

There are 54 videos (live recordings) plus a welcome message, supplies video and a show and tell at the end!

Watch and learn or squeeze out some acrylics, pick up a brush and join me.

Hi, I'm Anna

A LOT of good happens if you draw or paint every day.

It's a bit of 'time out' for your brain, a way to practice the skills of colour mixing and brush mark making, and the best thing? You have something to show for your time.

And not just one thing... a cool collection of things!

Choose your own art adventure

Because all the videos were recorded live in my Facebook Group, there is interaction with the members... so you can choose to watch in real time, as if you were there too... or just scoot through and watch the bits you want!

What's the Plan?

I've painted a complete deck of Jumbo Playing Cards, with acrylic paint.
Each suit has a theme and a colour way, to inspire you to notice similar subjects around you in your home.

I lightly sanded the plastic coated surface before I began, turned on the camera, and off I went. Simple as that.  You'll hear me greet people as they 'arrive' to watch online, and share my thought process as each mini painting is created.

Join me here, without the distraction of Facebook (I'm not the only one, surely?)

FAQs

How does this all work?

On Friday 28 August I finished painting the FIFTY-FOURTH #shacard - a portrait of Picasso - and added that last video to the workshop webpage.

I've also included an intro video about the approach I use and the supplies I demonstrate with, and I'm about to do a flip through of the completed collection - I'll add that too!

Do the videos expire?

Purchase this collection of videos and they're yours for as long as I have a website - and I'm not planning on going anywhere!

That way there's no pressure, just encouragement.

What supplies do I need?

I demonstrate with a selection of heavy body and fluid acrylic paints (mainly Golden and Atelier brands), as well as a selection of brushes, and a tear-off paper palette.

I encourage you to use what you have! But I have also included an intro video of me explaining my supplies and why I chose to use them. Enjoy!

All these videos - for less than $1 each.
